Q: Can everyone attend the SESAM congress without being a member? Can you still attend all of the workshops, etc.?
A: Non-SESAM-members are welcome to attend the SESAM conference, but naturally, the registration fee will be higher (the difference is 75€).
Q: I would like to register for the next SESAM conference.

Q: How can I use SESAM's E-mailing list?
A: If you are an active member of SESAM, your E-mail address is automatically on the E-mailing list. To send a message to the list, just send an E-mail to info(at)sesam-web.org and it will be forwarded to all members.
Q: I don't want to be part of SESAM's mailing list, what should I do?
A: Your welcome-Email from the E-mailing list contains instructions on how to remove your name from the list.
Alternatively, you can contact us at admin(at)sesam-web.org to have you E-mail address taken off the list. You are welcome back on the E-mailing list any time you wish.
Q: Why am I getting messages from members which are not intended for me?
A: If you send an E-mail to info(at)sesam-web.org, it is automatically forwarded to all members. Therefore, it can happen that messages that were intended only for one person are by mistake sent to all members.
Please use the E-mailing list carefully and only write to that address if you wish to share your thoughts with all members.
Q: I have NOT been an active member of SESAM in the last two years, but now I would like to become a member. How should I sign up for a SESAM membership?
A: Please create a membership profile using the web-based registration system at SESAM's website: http://www.sesam-web.org/sign_up.html.
Here you can download instructions on how to register and pay for your membership using SESAM's online registration and payment system.
After successful membership renewal / application, you will receive a confirmation by E-mail.
Q: I am currently a member of SESAM but my membership will soon expire. What should I do to renew my membership?
A: If you have already created a profile on SESAM's website, you can renew your membership online.
You can also directly login to your Paypal account and send the membership fee to sesam(at)zari.de. In this case, please insert in the subject field your name and the membership you are interested in. And assure yourself of inserting the accordant membership fee.
Q: I wanted to renew my membership, but now it has expired. Can I still renew it?
A: When your membership expires, your membership profile on SESAM's website becomes inactive and your E-mail address is deleted from the E-mailing list. Please contact SESAM's administration at admin@ sesam-web.orgfor your profile to be activated again. Afterwards you can renew your membership as described above.
Q: When should I renew my SESAM membership?
A: SESAM's membership follows the calendar year and expires on January 31. You can become a member during the whole year, but to benefit most from your membership, it is recommended that you renew it between December 1 and January 31.
Q: Where can I find a SESAM membership form?
A: Instead of membership forms, we are now using the database located at our website. Therefore, if you have not done so before, please visit SESAM's website at http://www.sesam-web.org/sign_up.html and create a personal profile.
Q: I am not willing to use my credit card for the payment, so I would be happy if you could kindly advise me about the payment by bank transfer or some other way.

Q: I would like to apply for a corporate membership for our simulation centre.
A: SESAM offers memberships to individuals and to industrial companies. To avoid confusion, the term "corporate membership" has been changed to "industry membership", as this option only applies to the industry.
Therefore, simulation centres cannot become members of SESAM. Please choose which individuals from your centre you want to become SESAM members.

Q: I got interrupted in the middle of the registration. When I now try to get back, I get a message that my username and e-mail address are already in use.
A: The registration system saves the data that have been entered, even if the attempt to renew your membership did not succeed. If you get interrupted during registration, please contact us at admin@sesam-web.org and we will delete these data manually. Afterwards you will be able to try again.
Q: The system allowed me to join and to pay through PayPal, but it still will not let me log in to the website and does not recognise my email as linked to a member.
A: In this case, please contact us at admin@sesam-web.org and we will activate your profile manually.
Q: When I try to pay for the membership, I cannot find a field to enter an EAN number.
A: It is not possible to pay via EAN number. You can pay via Paypal using all main international credit cards.
Q: I did fill all the fields, but the system did not allow me to get to the next page. What should I do?
A: Most likely the problem is due to pop-up blockers. Press Ctrl while you click "Next", or manually disable popup blockers; then you should be able to proceed.

Q: I applied online for a special membership and paid the fee via Paypal. Could you please tell me what is happening next?
A: After your payment has been confirmed, you will be contacted by SESAM within the next days and receive a confirmation of your membership. For a special membership, the confirmation includes a description of how to activate your affiliated membership in SSH.
Q: I recently signed up for a special SESAM membership. Why do I not receive the journal Simulation in Healthcare?
A: When you sign up for a special SESAM membership, your confirmation will include a code, which you need to activate yourself.
To do so, login to your profile at SSH's website (http://www.ssih.org/public/) or create a new profile.
After you have done this, you will be able to edit your membership information, e.g. your address, where the journal should be delivered to.
Q: I have signed up for a special membership and now I am experiencing problems with my membership in SSH, can you help me?
A: Please note that SESAM does not administrate your affiliated membership in SSH.
First of all, please make sure that you have followed the instructions in your membership confirmation from SESAM, where it is described how you should activate your SSH membership.
If you still experience problems, please contact the SSH directly.
Q: I joined SESAM during the congress and now I cannot find my username and password for the website.
A: If you joined SESAM during the annual meeting and not through SESAM's registration system, you currently do not have a profile at SESAM's website.
Q: I missed the deadline for membership renewal. Now I tried to renew my membership, but I cannot get a forgotten password.
A: Your profile is automatically deactivated when your membership expires. If you would like to renew your membership after 31 January, we need to manually activate your profile again - so please remember to renew your membership on time!
For manual activation of your profile, please contact admin@sesam-web.org.
Q: I want to renew my membership, but I forgot my username for the login on SESAM's homepage.
A: To retrieve your username and password, click on "Log in" at SESAM's website (http://www.sesam-web.org/sesam_login.html) and afterwards you can click on the link "Forgot your password?", where you get your password sent to your E-mail address.
But note that this function is only active if you are a member of SESAM.

- At first, please create a profile at SESAM's website, by filling out the form at http://www.sesam-web.org/sign_up.html and afterwards click "Next" twice; then you can close the page. In this way, your membership data are in the database.

- When you make the transfer, make sure that your name is clearly associated with the payment, otherwise it will be very difficult to track your payment.
- When your bank transfer can be confirmed, you will receive a confirmation of your membership by SESAM.
