Who we are:
HICESC was the first university-based simulation centre set up in the United Kingdom, and opened in 1998. HICESC is now the largest simulation centre in the UK for multidisciplinary training. It replicates a wide range of clinical and non-clinical environments.

The centre hosts the following patients:
What we are doing:
HICESC is a University of Hertfordshire, Faculty of Health & Human Sciences teaching resource. It is accessible to all health students (Pre and Post Registration) as well as external candidates. The centre is used primarily to run high fidelity simulation sessions, but also to host a number of short courses related to simulation (Training Faculty/Technicians) or requiring equipment (Advanced Medical Life Support), and to run OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations).

- Adult ITU / Operating Theatre
- A&E / Recovery WardHospital / Community Pharmacy
- Community Setting (Lounge, Bedroom, Bathroom)
- Screen-based Simulation Laboratory and Patient Assessment Room
- Two Control Rooms
- Three Observation Rooms or one large Conference Room
- Two Storage Rooms
- 26 Networked Video Cameras and 8 Patient Monitor Video Feeds (SMOTS)
- 11 Networked Wall Mounted OSCE Timing Monitors
- 11 Internal Phone Lines

- 1 x SimBaby
- 1 x Noelle Gaumard
- 1 x Nursing Anne with Vital Signs
- 1 x Nursing Kelly with Vital Signs
